Downtown on the Bayou (formerly Downtown Fall Fest) in its infancy, was an idea forged from the minds of local musicians, yearning to rebuild a local music scene that has largely been dormant the past few years. The idea gained traction quickly and began to grow as more individuals gave their input. Within days, a simple comment grew into an idea, then a concept revolving around building support for local musicians, while also giving back to the community.

Inspired by the excitement of the music community, Billy Gros and Aaron Triche decided to take the concept and bring it to reality. With the assistance of several local volunteers - Dean Schouest, Joseph Malbrough, and Kathy Arceneaux - Downtown Fall Fest was born.

DoB was created to foster growth in the local music scene. The tri-parish area has no shortage of great talent. However, most tend to be an afterthought. A once thriving music scene is now a shell of its former self. We intend to bring that excitement back. Our mission is to put our local musicians back into the spotlight and showcase our talent, creating a musical experience that our community can be proud of.

Furthermore, DoB has aspirations of supporting our future generations, as well. Proceeds from this event, and all future events, will be dispersed to local music programs for the purpose of purchasing and repairing instrument, as well as other learning materials. But, we will not stop there. We have more ideas for the future!
